What's better than Soap?

  • The skin protects itself naturally with an acid mantle including skin oils produced by the sebaceous glands...

  • A simple way to cleanse the skin without removing an excessive amount of the protective skin oils is with an alkaline wash followed by an acidic rinse to restore the protective acid mantle...

  • One option is to make a dilute solutions of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) with a ratio of about 1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda in about a cup of cool to lukewarm water...

If you need to remove more oils, you can make the mixture stronger, e.g. 1 tablespoon Baking Soda with about 3 Tablespoons of water, or even less water to make

  • Another option for the alkaline wash is if you have a water system that makes alkaline water, such as by electrolysis...

  • For the acid rinse to restore the skin's protective acid mantle, you can dilute about 1/2 tsp of vinegar in a cup of warm water...

  • If you have a water system that makes acid water through electrolysis, you can use that water for your rinse, as well as for general cleaning around the house...

What's wrong with Soap?

  • Sodium Laurel Sulfate:

Soaps like SLS make bubbles, but bubbles are not necessary for cleansing...

Soaps just reduce surface tension, but so does warm water…

SLS is associated with increased cancer risk...

And about 40% of what you put on your skin winds up inside your body...

So, why would you voluntarily expose your skin to harsh soaps, or even worse, give yourself a mouthful of soap, which is what makes most toothpaste foamy?

That's one of the reasons why our very first powder remedy formulation was our Dental Powder...

You brush with it, leave it on the teeth and gums, and swallow it, because it is all natural and medicinal...

And it has no Fluoride that reduces IQ by about 7 points on tests with a Standard Deviation of 15 points, according to about 70 studies as affirmed by Harvard School of Public Health here:

  • Destruction of the Skin's Protective Acid Mantle:

    Soap is highly alkaline...

It removes the fatty acids your body places there through the sebaceous glands in the skin...

Leaving the skin alkaline by washing with soap tends to leave the skin vulnerable, dry, and potentially irritated, inflamed and even cracked.

  • Loss of the Skin's Protective Oils:

If you skin tends to be dry, removing the natural skin oils makes it worse…

If you tend toward excessively oily skin, removing too much of the protective skin oils triggers your body to make even more to compensate…

Being more gentle with your skin allows it to find a more balanced equilibrium, often within days or a couple weeks.

  • Added Chemicals in Commercial Products:

If you don't know what a chemical is in the ingredients list on your skin and hair care products, how do you know you want it on and potentially in your body?

Remember, your body absorbs about 40% of what you put on the skin...

That's why we don't add any chemical additives or excipients to our topical (or internal) remedies.

For example, our MSM Lotions use only food grade ingredients...

Your digestive tract is just more specialized than your skin for absorption, but your skin serves that function as well as other communication functions, like the sense of touch, plus its important barrier function.
